Spring is exploding with color and warmth in Northern Michigan and so is the gallery. I am opening boxes of delightful treasures I found during the winter, of course all created by American artists. Here is a preview of a few of my new favorite things...

I found adorable hoodie towels, featuring lady bugs, alligators, puppies and unicorns, oh my... for the little beach bums. Or, after a Sleeping Bear dune climb, snuggle them into Batman or Princess Crown hoodies.

As a special memory of your time Up North, jewelry artisan Daphna Simon has created dramatic rings sculpted with recumbent bears. The sleeping bears in oxidized sterling silver are available in large or small bear motifs. These rings are dazzling!

New handbag designs, made from eco-friendly materials in fantastic colors by Renee Hickman, already are creating excitement in the gallery. You may have to have two! Luscious colors include fig, orange, marine, purple berry, green grass and red poppy, as well as classic black, gray and brown. |

It’s the Cat’s Meow
Freddie and Brady are a bit green with envy! Phil is parading around town in his new Masters Green Jacket. I must say he looks swell in it. What do you think?

More Great Stuff for Dogs... and Their People!
Come see the new line of Wallyware collectables by Tom Edwards. Wally is a new dog in town with attitude and lots to say. His philosophical wit comes on plates, mugs and bowls that you will want for your favorite hostess – and yourself!

A Sticks coaster set in tumbled marble features images of four good dogs. “Love Me, Love My Dog” is the message on the new Sticks cross stitch kit. |

Again this year, we are working on collecting more e-mail addresses, so you can continue to receive this newsletter and other fun announcements from the Ruth Conklin Gallery. A beautiful Sticks mirror will be awarded through a drawing at the end of the summer to one lucky “friend of the gallery”. If you have a new e-mail address or know someone else who would appreciate our offerings, please visit www.SticksUpNorth.com to register today, maybe you will be the lucky winner!

Ruth Conklin Special Request
I am honored that gallery customers have asked for more of my landscape canvasses in a larger format. I painted several of these during the winter, along with my signature small landscape plaques that continue to be a popular image of the beautiful north we all cherish.

Looking forward to seeing you again this season!
